Many people have criticised the London 2012 Mascots Wenlock and Mandeville. But I think this is mainly because people don't understand where there names come from or what they symbolise. They are named after Much Wenlock in Shropshire and Stoke Mandeville Hospital in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire. The three points on Wenlock's head represent the three places on the podium. The pattern on his body with the logo of the games symbolises the world coming to London in 2012. The shape on the front of his head represents the shape of the Olympic stadium roof and the rings on his arms represent the 5 Olympic rings.
Wenlock is 30cm tall and can be bought from all good retailers, he is very sturdy and very good quality too. James absolutely loves him and has claimed him as his own.
