SodaStream

When I was offered a Soda Stream to review I did a little jig. Call me silly if you want but this has always been something I've wanted to try since being younger. I was always jealous of the other kids at school who had them at home. My parents wouldn't buy one as they were the type who said it wasn't something we needed to have and would be a waste of money.

We were sent a limited edition World Without Bottles drink system. This can be bought from the SodaStream website. When one of these systems are purchased SodaStream will donate $1 to help the building of water wells in Kenya. The aim is simple to stop people from using and wasting so many plastic bottles.

The SodaStream is really easy to use. It literally takes no more than 5 minutes from set up to you being able to enjoy a glass of fizzy pop. It literally is as simple as filling the bottle with water, putting gas into the bottle, adding the syrup and giving it a shake!! Voila your drink is ready.

There are lots of different flavours of syrup that you can buy. We were sent, Orange, Lemon and Lime and Tonic flavours. Each 500ml bottle is priced at £3.29 and makes up to 12 litres of fizzy pop.

I love the SodaStream it has definitely made me think twice about buying fizzy pop at the supermarket. I will continue to use it in the future too. As we have bought less we have had less plastic in our recycling bin which can only be a good thing. If more people used the systems even more plastic would be kept out of the bin.

On the subject of saving bottles form the recycling bin did you know that the average family uses  827 bottles in a year.
On 4th August 2011 - A giant 10 foot sculpture of a family of four made entirely out of plastic bottles was erected by SodaStream in London, this was done to highlight the issue of plastic bottle wastage.

I will be highly recommending the SodaStream systems to my friends and family, it has certainly made our life easier and will help us do our bit for the environment. We give the SodaStream a great 4/5.
