Regatta are a well known brand for outdoor clothing, especially their wide range of coats and jackets. We were recently sent a 3 in 1 jacket for Callum to review.
The Daleshill jacket is the perfect coat for all year round wear due to it being a 3 in 1. In winter it is both warm and waterproof. In spring and autumn when the weather is still too cold to go out without but too warm for a heavy coat / jacket you can wear the inner fleece jacket as it is removable via a hidden zip. In summer or on warmer days but when the weather is wet or a little chilly you can wear the outer jacket without the fleece lining. You can also remove the hood from the jacket. There are two pockets on the front that are very deep so perfect for holding tissues and gloves etc. You fasten the jacket with a zip and Velcro. I was very pleased to see that the cuffs are adjustable, we have had problems in the past where jackets / coats have been too tight or awkward when putting gloves on or even when Callum has tried to look at his watch.
We were sent a jacket for a 7 - 8 year old. Callum is 8 and is tall for his age, I was worried that the jacket would be too small for him but it fits him well. He said it is really comfy to wear and doesn't feel to heavy even when it has the fleece lining in too. He said the fleece is very soft and fluffy.
The jacket is available in sizes 5 to 15 years. It is made from both waterproof and breathable fabric, which to me is a must as we walk to school most days and you can guarantee that the only time it will rain or be a massive downpour is either at half past 8 in the morning or 3.20 in the afternoon - and there is nothing worse than soggy moaning children walking to and from school, I am sure it makes them walk even slower.
The jacket has an RRP of £90. Which I honestly think is great value for money as you can often pay this for a winter coat on its own. But instead of 1 jacket you are getting 3 for your money.
